The weather is changing across India as winter begins to make its presence felt in northern parts of the country. The monsoon has withdrawn from North India, leaving skies mostly clear, while temperatures are gradually declining. At the same time, several southern states continue to experience rainfall. The India Meteorological Department (IMD) has forecast dry weather in Delhi-NCR, Uttar Pradesh and Bihar on October 24, while heavy rainfall warnings have been issued for Tamil Nadu, Kerala, Puducherry and Lakshadweep. Parts of Rajasthan may also receive light rain due to a western disturbance.

Delhi-NCR Weather: Cooler Days Ahead, Air Pollution Worsens

Delhi-NCR is experiencing a gradual change in weather following the withdrawal of the monsoon. While the temperature is fluctuating, air pollution is becoming a growing concern. According to the forecast, Delhi's maximum temperature could reach around 33°C on October 24.

A further change is expected from October 26, when the minimum temperature may fall to around 17°C. On October 27 and 28, the maximum temperature is likely to remain near 31°C, while the minimum could stay around 17°C.

Air quality has deteriorated across several areas of the National Capital Region. Reported AQI readings include 260 in Alipur, 218 in Anand Vihar, 193 in Ashok Vihar, 232 in Aya Nagar, 269 in Bawana, 246 at Burari Crossing and 159 in the Cantonment area.

Uttar Pradesh and Bihar to Remain Dry
The rainfall activity has largely ended in Uttar Pradesh and Bihar, and temperatures are gradually declining. The IMD has not issued a rain alert for either state for October 24. Predominantly dry weather is expected across both states.

Rajasthan May Receive Light Rain
A western disturbance could bring light rainfall to several parts of Rajasthan on October 24. The Bikaner division and adjoining areas of western Rajasthan may experience gusty winds reaching 30–40 kmph, accompanied by light rain in some locations. Most other parts of the state are likely to remain dry.

West Bengal May See Heavy Rain from October 28

A low-pressure system over the Bay of Bengal could intensify into a cyclonic storm, potentially bringing heavy rainfall to coastal and western districts of West Bengal from October 28.

The districts at risk include South 24 Parganas and Purba Medinipur along the coast, as well as Paschim Medinipur, Jhargram, Purulia and Bankura in western West Bengal.
