Samajwadi Party president Akhilesh Yadav launched a sharp attack on the BJP and Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath during the INDIA bloc rally at Delhi’s Ramlila Maidan on Sunday. Addressing the gathering, Yadav claimed that around 1.27 crore votes had been deleted from electoral rolls in Uttar Pradesh. Referring to a statement by the Chief Minister, he alleged that the actual figure was different and accused the BJP of trying to shift responsibility for its political challenges onto the party’s central leadership.
‘Around 31,000 Votes Removed Per Assembly Constituency’
Yadav said that if the figure of 1.25 crore deleted votes were divided among Uttar Pradesh’s 403 Assembly constituencies, it would amount to approximately 31,000 votes per constituency. He alleged that concerns over voter deletions emerged when the BJP began anticipating electoral setbacks. He also accused the ruling party of wanting electoral rolls to favour its own supporters. These figures and allegations were presented by Yadav during his political address.
