Gangster Anil Pandit, 32, has come under the spotlight after claiming responsibility for an attack on Bollywood actor Tiger Shroff in Mumbai. Originally from Rair Kalan village in Haryana’s Panipat district, Pandit reportedly went abroad in search of work before becoming associated with an organised crime network. According to reports, his journey took him from Dubai to the United States, where he allegedly became involved with the Lawrence Bishnoi syndicate. His name is now drawing attention as investigators examine the network behind threats and attacks targeting prominent people.

From Dubai to the United States

Pandit reportedly travelled to Dubai in 2022. In 2023, he reached California in the United States through an irregular migration route commonly known as the “dunki route.” There, he allegedly met Randeep Malik, who is from Haryana’s Jind district. Reports suggest that the two began working for the Lawrence Bishnoi organised crime network from the United States in 2024. What began as a search for opportunities abroad allegedly developed into involvement in criminal activities operating across international borders.

A New Face in the Lawrence Bishnoi Syndicate

Pandit is reportedly among the names associated with the network’s overseas operations. Other figures mentioned in connection with the syndicate include Harry Boxer, Randeep Malik, Harman Sandhu and Tyson Bishnoi. The report suggests that the network has seen changes in its overseas operations as some previously associated figures have moved away from the group. The syndicate is alleged to use threats and extortion to maintain its influence across northern India and parts of the entertainment industry.

Around 12 Cases Reportedly Linked to Pandit

According to the report, Haryana Police is looking for Pandit in around 12 cases involving allegations such as murder, attempted murder and extortion. His alleged role has also drawn attention because of investigations into threats against businesspeople and other prominent individuals. Authorities are examining the activities of people suspected of operating from abroad and coordinating criminal operations through local associates.

Three Shooters Arrested in a Separate Extortion Case

In July, a businessman and social media influencer based in North Rohini reportedly received an extortion demand of ₹5 crore. The callers allegedly sent photographs and videos of his home and office and used the names of Harry Boxer and Randeep Malik. Delhi Police’s Rohini Special Staff arrested three alleged shooters from Azamgarh, reportedly recovering foreign-made weapons. During questioning, investigators allegedly found that Anil Pandit had supplied weapons and directed firing incidents after one of the accused re-established contact with the gang following his release from Tihar Jail. The report also says the shooters had been told to remain prepared for a major operation in Mumbai.

Other Overseas Operators Under Scrutiny

The report also mentions Harman Sandhu, who is allegedly linked to an international drug-trafficking network operating across the United States, Canada and Mexico. Tyson Bishnoi has reportedly claimed responsibility for a shooting in Canada, threatened actor Aamir Khan and demanded ₹5 crore from a Delhi-based builder in August. These developments highlight concerns about alleged criminal networks operating across countries and using local associates to carry out threats, extortion and violent attacks.
