NTA UGC NET December 2026: The National Testing Agency (NTA) has provided major relief to candidates applying for the UGC NET December examination. NTA has extended the last date to apply without any late fee by 3 days. Candidates who have not applied yet can quickly visit the official website of NTA and apply. Notably, the previous last date to apply was October 28, which has now been extended to October 31.

How To Apply
1. First, visit the official website, ugcnet.nta.nic.in.
2. After this, click on the 'UGC-NET Dec 2026 Application' link.
3. Complete the registration process.
4. Then, log in, enter all the required information, and upload the necessary documents.
5. Finally, pay the application fee and submit the form.

When Will the Correction Window Open?
The last date to apply has been set as October 31. At the same time an opportunity for form correction will also be provided. For this, the correction window will remain open from November 2 to November 4.

When Will the Exam Be Held?
The UGC NET examination will be conducted from December 14 to 18 and on December 21. The exam city slip for the examination will be released on November 23.

Why Is the UGC NET Exam Necessary
This exam is conducted twice a year. Qualifying for this exam is mandatory for becoming an assistant professor in universities and colleges across the country, obtaining a Junior Research Fellowship, and securing admission into a PhD program. Every year, hundreds of thousands of students appear for this examination.
