JSSC CGL Exam 2024: The Jharkhand High Court has quashed the state government's decision to cancel the Jharkhand Staff Selection Commission’s Combined Graduate Level Examination and the appointments made on the basis of it. The court has struck down the very notification issued by the government through which this examination had been cancelled.
According to the petitioner’s counsel, Amritansh Vats, the court made it clear that in this matter, orders from the division bench and the Supreme Court have already been issued under the Prakash Kumar case. Compliance with these is mandatory for administrative officials. Officials cannot bypass these legal directives.
Investigation Will Continue
The court clarified that this decision will not affect the ongoing investigation. The investigation will continue, those found guilty will be ousted, while those found innocent will be granted appointments. With this, the court has disposed of the matter.
Questions Raised on the Government's Decision
A student leader from the 'JPSC-JSSC Reform Forum alleged that the decision taken by the state government on August 17, 2024, to cancel the exam was not presented strongly in court. Students have merely been deceived in the name of sealed envelopes and other claims by the government. The mastermind, Mithilesh Singh, remains under arrest. Furthermore, the CID's case diary has revealed that 135 questions were provided to candidates in Nepal to memorize. Despite this, the Jharkhand government is responsible for the fact that no decision has been reached in the interest of the lakhs of students involved.
'Students Need Not Be Disheartened'
Student leaders says that this is a betrayal of the millions of youths in Jharkhand. Since this is a single-bench ruling, the students intend to pursue a strong legal challenge against the order before a division bench; they have also urged fellow students not to lose heart.
