Ramayana Movie Cast Fees : Ranbir Kapoor’s film ‘Ramayana’ is making headlines even before its release. The film is scheduled to hit theatres worldwide on November 5, 2026, and its budget is reportedly around ₹4,000 crore. Amid the buzz surrounding the film, comparisons are also being drawn with Ramanand Sagar’s ‘Ramayan’, which aired on Doordarshan in 1987. Interestingly, Arun Govil, who played Lord Ram in the television series, will now be seen portraying King Dasharatha in the new film. Although both productions tell the same story of the Ramayana, there is reportedly a huge difference in their budgets and actors’ fees.

Ranbir Kapoor Reportedly Receives ₹75 Crore
According to information shared on social media, Ranbir Kapoor has reportedly been paid ₹75 crore for portraying Lord Ram in the new Ramayana. Meanwhile, Yash, who plays Ravana, has not charged any fee. Yash is also one of the film’s producers. Instead of a fixed payment, he is expected to receive a share of the film’s earnings. Ravi Dubey, who plays Lakshman, is reportedly receiving ₹3 crore, while Sai Pallavi, who portrays Sita, is said to have been paid ₹6 crore.



Fees Of Hanuman And Other Characters
According to the information available, Sunny Deol, who plays Hanuman, has received ₹20 crore for the film. Lara Dutta is reportedly being paid ₹25 lakh for playing Kaikeyi, while Kajal Aggarwal is said to have received ₹1 crore for portraying Mandodari. Rakul Preet Singh, who plays Shurpanakha, reportedly has a fee of ₹1.5 crore. Vivek Oberoi, who portrays Vidyutjiva, has not charged any fee. Additionally, Kunal Kapoor is reportedly receiving ₹30 lakh, Anupam Kher ₹50 lakh and Raghav Juyal ₹1 crore.

What Was The Budget Of Doordarshan’s Ramayan?
Now, let’s look at Ramanand Sagar’s Ramayan, which premiered in 1987. The television series was broadcast on Doordarshan and became hugely popular among households across the country. According to reports, approximately ₹9 lakh was spent on producing each episode. A total of 78 episodes were telecast.
