A shocking case involving the alleged murder of seven members of a family has emerged from Bengaluru, Karnataka. Police have named cab driver Indushekhar as the prime accused in the case. He is suspected of first killing his wife, Sunita, and then murdering six other members of her family. The victims reportedly include his mother-in-law, two brothers-in-law, their wives and a seven-year-old child. According to the police, the alleged killings took place over two days, after which the accused attempted to dispose of the bodies at different locations. The investigation is currently underway, and police are trying to establish the complete sequence of events.
Two Decades of Marriage Marked by Frequent Disputes
According to preliminary police findings, Indushekhar and Sunita had been married for nearly 20 years. The couple reportedly had frequent domestic disagreements, which gradually increased tensions in their relationship. Investigators believe Sunita's close relationship with her maternal family, particularly her mother and brothers, was a major source of conflict between the couple. Police suspect that these ongoing family disputes may have played a significant role in the alleged crime. However, the exact circumstances and motive behind the killings are still being investigated.
Wife Allegedly Killed First, Followed by Six Relatives
Police suspect that Sunita was the first victim. Her body was allegedly wrapped in cloth and abandoned near Nandi Hills. The accused reportedly switched off her mobile phone and told people around him that she had gone somewhere. The following day, he allegedly called Sunita's brothers, Shivkumar and Shankar, to the house, where they were also killed. Their wives, Nalini and Divya, along with their mother Rupavati and seven-year-old Punit, were subsequently targeted, according to the police investigation.
Missing Person Complaint Leads Police to the Case
The incident reportedly took place at a residential property near Bhashyam Circle in Bengaluru's Rajajinagar police station area. Police allege that the accused cleaned the house to remove evidence and used his cab to transport the bodies to different locations. The case came to light after Nalini's mother filed a missing person complaint at Srirampura police station. During questioning, investigators reportedly noticed inconsistencies in Indushekhar's statements, leading to further searches of the house. Police have seized a grinding stone and the cab allegedly used in the crime. So far, information has emerged about the recovery of seven-year-old Punit's body, while searches for the remaining victims are continuing. Investigators are also examining whether the accused acted alone or received assistance from someone else.
