Opposition March Demands CEC Gyanesh Kumar’s Resignation
The INDIA bloc’s protest march began around noon, moving from the Minto Road–Connaught Place junction towards Ramlila Maidan in Delhi. Opposition parties are protesting alleged irregularities in the electoral process and demanding the resignation of Chief Election Commissioner Gyanesh Kumar. Tribal Community Member Raises Concerns Over Land Rights
A member of a tribal community participating in the march said tribal people were important citizens of the country and wanted to preserve their traditions and culture. The speaker further expressed concern that industrial development could threaten tribal land rights. These claims reflect the protesters’ allegations and have not been independently established in the report.
Rahul Gandhi Appeals to People to Join the March
Ahead of the demonstration, Congress leader Rahul Gandhi shared a map on X, urging people to participate in the march under the message, “Save the Vote, Save the Nation.” He invited people to join the procession from Connaught Place or gather directly at Ramlila Maidan. On October 31, Gandhi had also appealed to visitors coming to Delhi for the protest to shop from local traders ahead of Diwali, Chhath and Bhai Dooj, saying the programme would not harm businesses.
