A tense situation unfolded in Chaudhary village when a young woman climbed a mobile tower at around 7:30 am and demanded that she be allowed to marry her boyfriend. She warned that she would jump if her demand was not fulfilled. The incident drew the attention of local residents, who gathered at the spot as efforts began to persuade her to climb down safely. Her insistence on getting married left her family and others worried.
Family Fails to Persuade Her
After receiving information about the incident, the woman’s family members reached the spot and tried to convince her to come down. However, she remained firm on her demand for marriage. Their efforts failed to change her decision, and the situation continued to be tense. The woman’s determination to marry her boyfriend prompted the authorities to step in and begin efforts to bring the situation under control
Police and Fire Brigade Arrive
Police personnel and a fire brigade team reached the village after being informed about the woman’s actions. Officers, including the Circle Officer and Station House Officer, tried to persuade her through a loudspeaker. Despite repeated appeals, she refused to climb down. The rescue team faced difficulties as the woman continued to insist that her marriage should take place before she returned to the ground.
Sets a Noon Deadline
As attempts to convince her continued, the woman reportedly set a deadline for her demand. During a phone conversation, she said that her nikah must take place before noon, warning that she would otherwise jump from the tower. Her ultimatum increased the urgency of the situation, leaving the police and family members searching for a way to resolve the matter without putting her life at risk.
Both Families Agree to Online Nikah
To bring the situation to an end, the families of the woman and her boyfriend agreed to arrange the nikah through a video conference. Maulana Qari Akmal from Madrasa Darul Uloom Jamia Gausia Himayat-ul-Islam was called to conduct the ceremony. Once the preparations were completed, the nikah rituals were performed using a mobile phone, allowing the marriage to take place while the woman remained on the tower.
Woman Brought Down Safely
After the nikah ceremony was completed, three firefighters helped bring the woman down from the tower. The operation ended with her being brought to safety. The incident had kept local residents and officials on edge for hours, as the woman had threatened to jump if her demand was not met. The decision to conduct the nikah remotely ultimately helped the authorities secure her safe return to the ground.
