A dangerous incident was reported in Rajouri town of Jammu and Kashmir, where a truck loaded with dry grass caught fire but continued moving through a narrow lane. Live electrical wires hanging overhead created the risk of a major accident. The incident reportedly took place in the Lower Jawahar Nagar locality, in the Thuddi area. According to reports, the fire spread rapidly through the dry grass while the driver remained unaware of the flames at the rear of the vehicle. As a result, he continued driving through the congested residential area. A video of the incident has surfaced, showing the burning truck moving beneath dangerously hanging wires. Reports suggest that contact with the electrical wires may have triggered the fire. Despite the dangerous situation, the driver managed to move the truck away from residential houses, helping prevent a potentially serious accident.

Two Dead After Live Wire Falls on Tractor-Trolley in Madhya Pradesh

In a separate incident in Madhya Pradesh's Jabalpur district, two young men died after a live electrical wire fell on a tractor-trolley carrying a Durga idol. Six other people were injured in the incident. According to police, the accident occurred shortly after midnight on October 20, at around 12:04 AM, in the Majhauli police station area, approximately 30 kilometres from the district headquarters. More than 50 people were reportedly participating in a procession to take the idol for immersion following the Navratri festival. The procession was moving from Civil Lines Path towards Narili Pond when the incident occurred. The sudden fall of the live wire turned the religious procession into a tragic accident, leaving two families mourning the loss of their loved ones.

Victims Identified, Six Injured in Electrical Accident
Sub-Divisional Officer of Police Mohanti Maravi said that 22-year-old Vikas Rajput and 23-year-old Prince Chauhan, who were sitting on the tractor, died at the spot after being electrocuted. Six other people sustained injuries and were taken for medical treatment. Both incidents highlight the serious dangers posed by exposed or hanging electrical wires, particularly in crowded residential areas and during public gatherings. Electrical accidents can occur suddenly and may put several lives at risk. People are advised to maintain a safe distance from fallen wires and immediately inform the electricity department or emergency services. Authorities and event organisers should also ensure that electrical hazards are identified and addressed to help prevent similar tragedies in the future.
