NCERT 10th New Syllabus: The National Council of Educational Research and Training (NCERT) is set to introduce new and revised books prepared under the new school curriculum for class 10th students. This change is an important part of the reforms being made in school education under the National Education Policy (NEP 2020). According to reports, these books will be made available to students approximately three months before the start of the 2027 academic session, providing both students and teachers with ample time to familiarize themselves with the updated syllabus.
Syllabus to be sent to CBSE on November 15, 2026
Regarding this, NCERT Director Dinesh Prasad Saklani said that the syllabus for Class 10 will be sent to the Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) by November 15, 2026. Additionally, the updated syllabus will be made available on the NCERT website.
Subjects that will have new books
The new, revised NCERT textbooks for Class 10 will include English, Urdu, Hindi, Mathematics, Sanskrit, Science, Social Science, Skill Education, Art, and Physical Education. Language textbooks are expected to be available by November 20, while the remaining books are planned for release by December 2026. These textbooks will be intended for students of the 2027–28 academic session (those who will enter Class 10 in 2027).
Benefit of books coming ahead of time?
Students currently studying in class 9 will get an adequate opportunity to see and understand the changed syllabus of Class 10th even before their board exams. Teachers will be able to review the updated content in advance and prepare lessons according to the new syllabus. The right price of the books will be fixed and they will be made easily available.
Where to buy new books
You can purchase the new books from the official NCERT website, ncert.nic.in. Additionally, the books will be available on platforms like Amazon and Flipkart, as well as through Army Postal Services; students can purchase them from these sources as well. Notably, NCERT sold 70.9 million textbooks during the 2026 academic year—the highest sales figure to date.
