LPG Cylinder Price Hike: LPG cylinder prices have been revised at the beginning of November, bringing a fresh increase in the cost of commercial cooking gas. Oil marketing companies have raised the prices of 19-kg commercial LPG cylinders with effect from November 1, 2026. The increase ranges from Rs 10 to Rs 11.50 across different cities. However, there is some relief for household consumers as the prices of 14.2-kg domestic LPG cylinders remain unchanged. The revised rates will primarily affect hotels, restaurants, roadside eateries and other commercial establishments that depend on LPG for their daily operations.
Commercial LPG Cylinder Now Costs Rs 2,820 in Delhi
In the national capital, the price of a 19-kg commercial LPG cylinder has increased by Rs 10 to Rs 2,820. The cylinder was previously available for Rs 2,810 in October. In Mumbai, the new price has reached Rs 2,764, while Ahmedabad has recorded a price of Rs 2,842 after an increase of Rs 10.50. The latest revision means businesses will have to spend more on their regular cooking gas requirements. Small hotels, roadside eateries, restaurants and catering businesses are among those likely to feel the impact of the price increase.
Chennai Records the Highest Hike of Rs 11.50
Among the cities covered in the latest revision, Chennai has witnessed the highest increase in commercial LPG prices. The price of a 19-kg cylinder has risen from Rs 2,983 to Rs 2,994.50, marking an increase of Rs 11.50. In comparison, Delhi has recorded a hike of Rs 10, while Ahmedabad has seen an increase of Rs 10.50. LPG prices vary from city to city due to differences in local taxes, transportation costs and other factors. The latest revision could add to the monthly operating expenses of businesses that rely heavily on commercial cooking gas.
No Change in Domestic LPG Cylinder Prices
While commercial LPG has become more expensive, household consumers have received some relief. Oil marketing companies have kept the prices of 14.2-kg domestic LPG cylinders unchanged for November. In Delhi, a domestic LPG cylinder continues to cost Rs 942, while the price in Mumbai remains Rs 941.50. Consumers in Chennai will continue to pay Rs 957.50, whereas the price in Ahmedabad stands at Rs 949. This means households will not face any additional financial burden from the latest commercial LPG price revision.
Why Are LPG Cylinder Prices Revised Every Month?
Oil marketing companies review LPG cylinder prices on the first day of every month. Commercial LPG rates are influenced by several factors, including international LPG prices, Saudi Contract Prices and fluctuations in the rupee-dollar exchange rate. India imports around 60 per cent of its LPG requirements, making domestic prices sensitive to developments in the international energy market. However, domestic LPG prices are also influenced by separate government policy decisions. For now, the November 1 revision has increased the cost of commercial cooking gas, while domestic LPG consumers continue to get relief from a price hike.
