UGC NET 2026: The online application process for the University Grants Commission (UGC) National Eligibility Test (NET) December 2026 is underway. To transparency in the exam, the National Testing Agency (NTA) has added a new rule under which capturing a live photo while filling out the form has been made mandatory. However, many candidates are facing technical difficulties in capturing live photos through webcams or mobile phones. To resolve this problem for students, the NTA has shared some very easy and effective solutions.

Easy tips to resolve the live photo issue

Maintain sufficient lighting—While taking the photo, keep in mind that good and direct light should be falling on your face so that your face is clearly visible.

Clean background – The background behind you should be completely clear and light-colored.

Only you in the frame- Only your face should be in the camera frame, if another person is visible in the background, the system will not accept the photo.

Clear Browser Cache – If the photo is not being captured, delete the history and cache memory of your web browser.

Use another Browser— If you are using Google Chrome and facing trouble use the Mozilla Firefox or Microsoft Edge browser.

Incognito Mode – Try opening your browser in a private window or incognito mode and filling out the form..

Refresh the portal— After fixing all these settings, reopen the portal, and your photo will be captured immediately.
