Weather Update: The weather in the national capital is gradually changing with the arrival of November. Following recent rainfall, temperatures have dropped, bringing a noticeable chill during the early morning and evening hours. However, sunny conditions during the day are expected to keep the weather relatively warm. According to the India Meteorological Department (IMD), Delhi is likely to witness mainly clear skies on November 1. The minimum temperature is expected to remain around 17 degrees Celsius, while the maximum may reach 29 degrees Celsius. With these changing weather conditions, residents are likely to experience cooler mornings and evenings in the coming days.
Rainfall Brings a Noticeable Drop in Delhi's Temperature
The impact of recent rainfall is now becoming evident across Delhi. According to data from the IMD's Safdarjung weather station, the maximum temperature on October 31 was recorded at 20.7 degrees Celsius, which was 10.3 degrees below normal. The minimum temperature stood at 16.2 degrees Celsius, while the city also received 4 mm of rainfall. Rain and cool winds have contributed to the change in weather conditions. People stepping out early in the morning are already experiencing a slight chill, while temperatures are also dropping after sunset.
Delhi Weather Forecast for the Next Three Days
According to the IMD forecast, Delhi is likely to experience mainly clear skies on November 1. The minimum temperature may settle around 17 degrees Celsius, while the maximum is expected to reach 29 degrees Celsius. On November 2, the minimum temperature is likely to remain around 16 degrees Celsius, with the maximum at 29 degrees Celsius. Similar conditions are expected on November 3, when the minimum and maximum temperatures may remain around 16 and 29 degrees Celsius, respectively. No rainfall warning has been issued for this period. While sunshine is likely to keep daytime conditions relatively warm, mornings and nights may feel considerably cooler.
Northwesterly Winds to Bring More Morning and Evening Chill
Northwesterly winds are also expected to play an important role in the changing weather conditions across the national capital. According to the weather forecast, winds are likely to blow from the northwest during the morning hours on November 1. Their speed may increase to around 20-22 kilometres per hour during the afternoon before gradually slowing down in the evening and at night. These winds may contribute to cooler conditions, particularly during the early morning and evening hours. However, there is currently no forecast indicating severe cold or cold-wave conditions in Delhi. Residents are therefore likely to experience a noticeable difference between daytime and nighttime temperatures.
Air Pollution Remains a Concern as Weather Conditions Change
Along with falling temperatures, air pollution continues to be a major concern for Delhi residents. According to the Air Quality Early Warning System, the city's air quality is likely to remain in the moderate category on November 1. However, air quality may deteriorate to the poor category on November 2 and 3. This means residents could face pollution-related challenges even as the weather becomes cooler. Health experts advise people going out for morning walks to keep track of the air quality, particularly children and senior citizens. Overall, November is expected to begin with cooler mornings and evenings in Delhi, while daytime temperatures are likely to remain relatively warm.
