Ducati New Launch: The demand for luxury and sports bikes is continuously rising in the Indian market. Considering this, Italian giant bike manufacturer Ducati has launched its two new off-road motorcycles Desmo450 EDX and Desmo450 MX Factory in India. The price of these superbikes is high enough that premium SUV cars like Mahindra Thar, Scorpio-N, or Tata Harrier can easily fit within that budget. Bookings for these have begun at Ducati dealerships across the country.

What is the Price
The starting ex-showroom price of the Desmo450 EDX is Rs 18.55 lakh, while the starting ex-showroom price of the Desmo450 MX Factory is Rs 21.26 lakh.

Engine and Performance
Both motorcycles feature a 449.6cc single-cylinder engine. It utilizes Ducati’s patented Desmodromic valve timing technology the same technology the company uses in its MotoGP and World Superbike racing machines. This powerful engine is capable of generating a maximum power of 63.5 hp at 9,400 rpm and a peak torque of 53.5 Nm at 7,500 rpm.

What is Different Between Both Variants
The Desmo450 EDX is designed for challenging trails and long rides. It comes equipped with practical features such as a large 8.5-litre fuel tank, handguards, an engine skid plate, and a side stand. On the other hand, the Desmo450 MX Factory is a pure competition motocross bike. To keep the weight low, it comes with a 7.2-liter tank, Showa fully adjustable suspension, and a full-titanium exhaust system from Akrapovič.

Safety Features
Ducati has provided a high-tech electronics package in these bikes. The bikes features a traction control system that automatically turns off the moment the motorcycle takes a jump in the air.  Additionally, the bikes come with features like launch control, engine brake control, a bi-directional quickshifter, and various power and riding modes, giving the rider complete control on any terrain.
