Following the reported death of veteran actor Nana Patekar, his son Malhar has spoken about the controversy involving Tanushree Dutta and the discussions surrounding his family. In an interview with Hindustan Times, Malhar expressed disappointment over social media trolling and repeated questions about the matter. Without naming Tanushree directly, he said the issue had already been settled in court. He added that people continuing to discuss it should remember that the truth would remain unchanged.

‘Our Family Is Emotionally Connected’

Malhar also spoke about the bond he shared with his parents. He said they had taught him to face difficult situations with courage and strength since childhood. According to him, outside opinions about their family did not affect them. He stressed that the family remained emotionally connected and that he had always received love and support from his parents. His comments came amid online discussions about Nana Patekar’s personal life and family relationships.

Malhar Clears the Air About His Parents

Responding to questions about why the family rarely shared photographs on social media, Malhar said the absence of family pictures did not mean there was a lack of love. He claimed that his parents maintained a good relationship even after separating. According to him, their bond lasted 39 years, and things were not always as they appeared to outsiders. He also said Nana was never alone, as a family member was always around him.

What Happened on October 8?

Malhar recalled the events of October 8, saying his father was in Goa at the time. His cousin Prasad, who handled entertainment-related work for Nana, had been sent to Mumbai because Nana was scheduled to shoot Kaun Banega Crorepati with Madhuri Dixit. Malhar said his father did not like troubling others. When he began feeling uncomfortable, he first sent a message and later made a phone call. Family members rushed to him, but it was too late. Malhar said he was in Pune when his mother called him around 5 am.

Malhar Rejects Claims That Nana Was Unwell

Malhar also pushed back against online claims about his father’s health. He said Nana remained active and worked out for around two and a half hours every day. According to Malhar, the actor continued to maintain an active lifestyle, and family members stayed close to him. He criticised people for drawing conclusions about the family based on social media posts and photographs rather than understanding their private lives.

Why Nana Patekar Wanted Different Roles

Malhar explained that Nana had become tired of playing similar characters and wanted to explore new creative opportunities. He said his father was interested in developing stories himself and constantly improving as an actor. Nana also wanted to show that powerful acting did not always require lengthy or dramatic dialogues. Malhar’s comments offer a glimpse into the actor’s personal life, his family’s bond and his approach to his work.
