The death of a 17-year-old Class 12 student at a government school in east Delhi’s Krishna Nagar has prompted a police investigation. The student was found with severe burn injuries on the school premises on Saturday and was declared dead by medical personnel. Investigators have recovered a three-page note from her school bag and are examining its contents to understand the circumstances surrounding the incident. Police have said that the case is being investigated from multiple angles, while the family has raised concerns about the possibility of foul play.

According to police sources, the note reportedly contains references to the student’s family and a friend. Some portions are said to include an apology to her family and a request that her friend not be harassed. Investigators are verifying the information contained in the note and have not disclosed its full contents. Police are also examining how a suspected flammable substance reached the school premises. The circumstances leading to the student’s death have not yet been conclusively established.

CCTV Footage and Witness Statements Under Review
Police teams, including forensic experts, inspected the school premises and collected evidence. Investigators are reviewing CCTV footage and questioning teachers, school employees and students to reconstruct the events preceding the incident. A bottle recovered near the location is also being examined. Officials are speaking with the student’s relatives and friends to establish whether she had faced any personal difficulties, harassment or other issues. Although a possible relationship-related matter is among the reported lines of inquiry, no motive has been officially confirmed.

Family Raises Concerns, Investigation Continues
The student’s family has expressed doubts about the possibility of suicide and has alleged that there could be a conspiracy. Police have said that all possible angles, including foul play, are being examined. Delhi Education Minister Ashish Sood and Krishna Nagar MLA Anil Goyal visited the school following the incident. The education minister said the matter was being investigated seriously and that further action would depend on the findings. The body has been sent for a post-mortem examination, and the investigation remains ongoing. Authorities are expected to establish the sequence of events after examining forensic evidence, CCTV recordings and witness statements
