YouTuber Dhruv Rathee has announced an international protest against alleged vote theft in India after reaching London. Rathee said it was time for the world to see what he described as the truth about vote theft and threats to democracy. In a post on X, he invited people in London to join a demonstration scheduled for noon the following day at Parliament Square, near the statue of Mahatma Gandhi. His announcement comes amid continuing political tensions over electoral processes in India.
Rathee Claims He Was Detained for Nearly 23 Hours
Rathee had travelled to India from Germany on October 9 to participate in protests linked to the Cockroach Janata Party’s demand for the resignation of Chief Election Commissioner Gyanesh Kumar. According to the report, he was detained from his home in Gurugram the following morning and released later that night. The episode drew attention to the ongoing protest movement and Rathee’s criticism of the central government.
‘Time for an International Protest’
After arriving in London, Rathee wrote on X that the time had come to take the campaign beyond India. He described the proposed demonstration as an international protest against alleged vote theft and what he called attacks on democracy. He urged people living in London to attend the gathering at Parliament Square. The announcement signals his intention to draw international attention to the allegations being raised by protesters in India.
Rathee Responds to Questions About His Citizenship
Questions had also been raised on social media about whether Rathee was an Indian citizen and whether he could participate in protests in India. In response, he shared a video showing his passport and said he was an Indian citizen. The controversy became another talking point amid the protests. The report does not provide independent verification of the claims made by either side regarding the wider political dispute.
CJP Faces Fresh Setback After Arrests
While Rathee has reached London, the Cockroach Janata Party has faced further developments in India. CJP leader Abhijeet Dipke was reportedly arrested during the ‘Lahra Do Tiranga’ march. The party’s legal head, Ratna Singh, said Dipke would be produced before a court in Delhi. The march was linked to the group’s campaign over electoral issues and its demand for the Chief Election Commissioner’s resignation.
Two Other CJP Leaders in Judicial Custody
Earlier, Ashutosh Ranka and Saurav Das were also sent to Tihar Jail and placed in five days of judicial custody, according to the report. The developments have added to the tension surrounding the protest movement in Delhi. Rathee’s announcement of a London demonstration now brings an international dimension to the campaign. The allegations of vote theft remain political claims, and the planned protest is expected to draw attention to the dispute.
