Police in Greater Noida have busted an alleged child kidnapping gang accused of abducting a six-year-old boy and planning to sell him for ₹5 lakh. According to police, seven people, including two women, have been arrested in connection with the case. Three male suspects sustained gunshot injuries to their legs during an encounter with the police. The child was rescued safely.

Aunt Allegedly Planned the Kidnapping

According to the police investigation, a woman identified as Pushpa allegedly played a key role in the conspiracy. Police said a man named Kamlesh, who lives in Delhi, had contacted Pushpa regarding the child. She allegedly involved her nephew, Sumit, in the plan.

Investigators said the child was abducted on the evening of October 13 while playing outside in the Kasna police station area. The family approached the police on October 14 to report the kidnapping, prompting an investigation.

Police Track Suspects Through CCTV and Surveillance
Police teams from Kasna and Ecotech-1 police stations, along with the Special Operations Group (SOG), used CCTV footage and electronic surveillance to identify the suspects. Acting on intelligence inputs, officers set up a checkpoint near Dhada Gol Chakkar.

According to police, the suspects' vehicle arrived at the checkpoint, and the occupants allegedly opened fire while attempting to escape. The police retaliated, injuring three suspects identified as Gurmeet Singh, Sumit Kumar and Ankit Kumar in their legs before taking them into custody.

₹2 Lakh Advance Allegedly Paid

During questioning, the accused allegedly told investigators that the child was to be sold for ₹5 lakh and that ₹2 lakh had already been paid in advance. Police suspect that the child was to be handed over to someone through the Delhi-based contact.

The investigation is continuing to establish the roles of all seven accused and verify the alleged financial transaction. The claims against the arrested individuals remain subject to the ongoing legal process.
