The International Cricket Council (ICC) released its latest Test, ODI and T20 rankings on Wednesday, November 4, 2026. Indian players continued to dominate the batting charts, with Abhishek Sharma holding the top position in T20 cricket and Shubman Gill remaining the number one ODI batter. However, the biggest change came in the Test team rankings, where South Africa moved past Australia to claim the top spot. There were also changes in the bowling rankings, with Australia's Mitchell Starc returning to the number one position among Test bowlers.
Gill and Abhishek Lead Batting Charts
Shubman Gill continues to hold the number one position in the ODI batting rankings. Virat Kohli is placed third, Rohit Sharma fourth and KL Rahul tenth. In the T20 batting rankings, Abhishek Sharma remains at the top, while Ishan Kishan holds the third position. These rankings underline India's strong presence in the limited-overs batting charts. Both Gill and Abhishek have maintained their top positions despite competition from leading international batters.
Tilak Slips, Shreyas Gains
There have been some notable changes in the T20 batting rankings. Tilak Varma has dropped one place and moved from tenth to eleventh position, taking him out of the top 10. On the other hand, India's T20 captain Shreyas Iyer has gained two places and climbed from ninth to seventh. Sanju Samson has suffered a bigger setback, dropping seven places to 27th and moving out of the top 20. Young batter Vaibhav Sooryavanshi has also slipped two places, moving from 45th to 47th.
Brook Tops Test Batting Rankings
England's Harry Brook continues to lead the Test batting rankings. India's Rishabh Pant is placed seventh, while captain Shubman Gill holds ninth position. In the Test bowling rankings, Mitchell Starc has returned to the number one spot after recently losing it to South Africa's Marco Jansen. India's Jasprit Bumrah is placed fifth. Starc's return to the top highlights another major change in the latest rankings. Jansen, who had reached the top position last week, has now slipped down.
Rashid Khan Leads Limited-Overs Bowling
Afghanistan's Rashid Khan continues to hold the number one position in both ODI and T20 bowling rankings. India's Kuldeep Yadav has dropped one place in the ODI bowling list, moving from fifth to sixth. No Indian bowler features in the top 10 of the latest T20 bowling rankings. This remains an area where Indian players will be looking to improve their positions in upcoming international matches.
South Africa Become No. 1 Test Team
The biggest team-ranking change is South Africa's rise to the number one position in Test cricket. The reigning World Test champions have overtaken Australia to claim the top spot. India are currently ranked fourth in Test cricket. In the ODI team rankings, India remain number one, while England lead the T20 team rankings. India are placed second in the T20 team rankings. The latest update shows South Africa's growing dominance in Test cricket and India's continued strength in limited-overs formats.
