The mysterious deaths of five members of a family in Nagla Shri Gopal village, under the Rabupura police station area of Greater Noida, have raised serious questions. The deceased have been identified as 38-year-old Mahesh, his wife Lalita, and their three children. Initially, it was suspected that the family had died of food poisoning after consuming tea and noodles. However, a preliminary inspection by food safety officials has found no clear evidence pointing to food poisoning.

Food Safety Officer O.P. Singh said that common symptoms of food poisoning generally include vomiting, diarrhoea and abdominal cramps. No conclusive signs of these symptoms have emerged in this case. Investigators are now examining the possibility that a highly toxic or chemical substance may have played a role in the deaths. The exact cause, however, can only be established after the post-mortem findings and chemical analysis of the preserved viscera are received.

Maternal Family Alleges Property Dispute; Police Investigating All Angles
The case has taken another turn after Lalita’s family raised allegations linked to a property dispute. According to her relatives, Lalita had reportedly been involved in a long-running dispute with her mother-in-law and sister-in-law over ownership of around 10 bighas of land and a house. Her maternal family has expressed suspicion that the dispute may be connected to the deaths and has alleged possible poisoning. These claims have not yet been established, and police are investigating their veracity.

Greater Noida DCP Shravan Kumar said that post-mortem examinations are being conducted on all five bodies and that viscera samples will be sent for chemical testing to determine the cause of death. A forensic team has collected food samples and other scientific evidence from the scene. Police are questioning those concerned and examining every possible angle, including the alleged property dispute and personal enmity. The mystery surrounding the five deaths remains unresolved, with investigators awaiting forensic and laboratory reports before drawing conclusions.
