UP Crime News: A woman and her two-year-old son were found dead under suspicious circumstances in Uttar Pradesh’s Pratapgarh district late Saturday night. The incident took place in Naya Purwa village, under the jurisdiction of Sangramgarh police station. The woman’s family has accused her husband of killing both of them and attempting to make the incident appear to be a suicide. Police have sent the bodies for post-mortem examination and launched an investigation.

Mother and Child Found on Bed
According to reports, the woman, identified as Neeta, 30, was married to Suresh Kumar Patel, a resident of Naya Purwa village, around 10 years ago. The couple reportedly had dinner with other family members on Saturday night before going to their respective rooms to sleep.

A dispute allegedly broke out between the couple later that night. The woman’s family has accused Suresh of strangling Neeta and their two-year-old son, Yeshu. These allegations are being investigated by the police.

Family Raises Suspicion Over Circumstances
When the incident came to light on Sunday morning, the husband allegedly claimed that the mother and child had died by suicide. The woman’s relatives questioned this account after noticing marks on the bodies and accused him of murder. They also alleged that the bodies had been moved from the bed to a cot outside in an attempt to misrepresent the circumstances of the deaths.

Police Begin Investigation
Superintendent of Police Deepak Bhuker, along with the Circle Officer and Sangramgarh Station House Officer Siddharth Singh, reached the scene with police personnel. Both bodies were taken into custody and sent for post-mortem examination.

The SP said the husband had been detained and legal proceedings were underway. Further action will be taken based on the family’s formal complaint and the findings of the investigation. The post-mortem report is expected to help establish the cause of death.
