Weather conditions across several parts of India are expected to change on November 6, 2026, according to the India Meteorological Department (IMD). A fresh Western Disturbance has become active, bringing the possibility of rainfall and snowfall in parts of the Himalayan region. Meanwhile, temperatures are gradually falling across Delhi, Punjab, Haryana and Uttar Pradesh, signalling the arrival of colder conditions. In southern India, the impact of Cyclone Murasu is expected to continue, with rainfall activity likely in Tamil Nadu, Kerala, Karnataka and neighbouring regions. The weather department has issued warnings for heavy, moderate and light rainfall in several states and Union Territories. While northern plains are expected to remain mostly dry on Friday, changing weather conditions in the coming days could bring further changes across the country.
Delhi-NCR Weather: Rising Cold and Pollution, Rain Possible Next Week
Delhi-NCR is witnessing a gradual increase in cold conditions, particularly during early mornings and evenings. Residents have started experiencing chilly weather, with light winter clothing becoming necessary. Alongside the falling temperatures, air pollution remains a major concern, with AQI levels crossing 500 in some areas. A fresh Western Disturbance is expected to influence the region and may bring rainfall to parts of Delhi-NCR next week. However, Friday, November 6, is likely to remain dry with mostly clear skies. Light fog or mist may develop in isolated areas during the morning hours. The maximum temperature is expected to remain between 27°C and 29°C, while the minimum may range from 15°C to 17°C.
Uttar Pradesh, Bihar to Remain Dry; Snowfall Alert in Mountain States
Weather conditions in Uttar Pradesh and Bihar are expected to remain largely stable on Friday. According to the forecast, both eastern and western Uttar Pradesh will experience dry weather, with no rainfall warning in place. Light mist may appear during the morning, followed by sunny conditions later in the day. Bihar is also likely to experience dry weather without any significant change in atmospheric conditions. Meanwhile, the Western Disturbance may bring isolated light rainfall and snowfall to higher-altitude areas of Jammu and Kashmir, Ladakh, Himachal Pradesh and Uttarakhand. Temperatures in these mountainous regions are expected to remain low, with winter conditions becoming more noticeable.
Heavy Rainfall Warning for Southern States and Other Regions
Southern India is expected to witness significant rainfall activity due to the influence of Cyclone Murasu, which weakened after crossing the Andhra Pradesh coast. Despite its weakening, rain is likely to continue in parts of southern India until November 8. Tamil Nadu and Puducherry may receive heavy rainfall accompanied by thunderstorms. Kerala is also likely to experience heavy showers, lightning and thunderstorm activity in some areas. Andhra Pradesh may witness moderate to heavy rainfall along with strong winds, while Karnataka is expected to receive rain accompanied by thunder and lightning. Apart from these regions, moderate rainfall is forecast in Odisha, while light rain is possible in Nagaland, Manipur, Mizoram, Tripura, Telangana, the Andaman and Nicobar Islands and Lakshadweep. Residents in areas under rainfall warnings should remain alert to changing weather conditions and follow official IMD advisories.
